“I created corona series color pencil drawings as part of my daily reflections and observations on the unimaginable repercussions of Covid 19 disease. The pandemic that swept across the world and affected all, irrespective of rich and poor, was immensely overwhelming for me as an artist. A pandemic of such a large scale and magnitude was the rarest phenomenon and the microscopic image of Coronavirus has emerged as a metaphor for death, fear and mortality. With scientists and think tanks now advising common people to learn to live with this still to be understood virus, I created the drawings that take an amusing and sarcastic take on this difficult to accept truth. The drawings include a fantasy approach toward coronavirus, wherein my compositions display the “ubiquitousness” of this virus. I have used metaphors like “tasteless fruit”, “coronology”, etc. to convey the life-changing impacts of this virus.”
