Yashvant manifests his  feelings and memories onto his work surfaces, writing in a language which is his very own, a script of the mind, spontaneous with his deepest emotions. Yashvant works with elements of and symbols witnessed in the tribal community around him during his growing years, its rituals, telling of stories of the ancestors and tales of deities narrated in gatherings.

He instinctively began to incorporate those motifs into his visual language. The symbols and figures that appear and re-appear in his work come from beliefs like – such symbolism evokes the ancestors and/or spirits and deities that protect the community from disease and evil spirits. They are believed to drive away impure or demonic entities. A purification of the space, an apt metaphor, much needed in these times of Covid. As mankind struggles with multiple demons of climate change, a global pandemic and declining humanity and compassion.
