There is a certain meditative quality to Ashok’s work. A quest into the unknown. He reaches out through the mind’s eye to go beyond the and into the transcendental. His imagery is simple yet mature, with a certain positivity towards the world and all life on it. Hi medium is akin to his friend and inspiration Sohan Qadri, surfaces of paper dabbed in monochromatic tones with incisions, perforations and burns that provide form with in abstraction,  break the monotony and invoke the spiritual aspect of our beings.
